Foreign Visitors at Tourist Information Centre Hazaribagh






The Tourist Information Centre (T.I.C) Photo-Gallery and website was inaugurated on the 4th of July 2012, by Dr. Manish Ranjan, I.A.S. Deputy Commissioner Hazaribagh at 5.30pm at the Tourist Information Centre (Aranya Vihar Guest House in Herangunj) Hazaribagh, marking the occasion with the Felicitation Ceremony of Mr. Bulu Imam on receiving the prestigious Gandhi International Peace Award (GIPA) in the House of Lords, in London on 12th June 2012 by Dr. Bikhu Parekh (Emeritus Professor at the University of Hull and holding 16 honorary doctorate from Universities in UK). The program was organized by INTACH Hazaribagh Chapter, in collaboration with Mr. Justin Imam, Secretary, VIRASAT Trust Hazaribagh and Mr. Ujjal Ghosh, Secretary, SHILALEH – Jharkhand Shilp Kala Parishad, Hazaribagh.

The Inauguration Ceremony of the Tourist Information Centre Photo Gallery of 100 framed photos with captions and write-up displayed in five Thematic GALLERY is as follows: Gallery: 1, on 1st floor Rock-art sites of Hazaribagh & Chatra district; Gallery: 2 on 1st floor of Tribal art (Khovar & Sohrai art) of Hazaribagh; Gallery: 3 on Ground floor of Buddhist sites of Hazaribagh; Gallery 4: Historical sites of Hazaribagh & its environs; Gallery 5 on ground floor of Natural Heritage sites & picnic spots of Hazaribagh. The TIC website – www.tichazaribagh.com is a portal of the above five themes with extensive documentation text and photo gallery, with Tours and site-seeing, information, links, and much information for any visitor, tourist or research scholar of the various Tourist sites and its potentials in and around Hazaribagh supported by the Jharkhand State Tourist Development (JTDC), Tourism Department (Govt. of Jharkhand), Ranchi, and INTACH, Delhi. The documentation research and photos have been provided by Mr. Bulu Imam, Convenor INTACH Hazaribagh Chapter and Director of SANSKRITI Centre, in Dipugarha Hazaribagh, with assistance  from Mr. Jason Imam, Mr. Gustav Imam.

The Tourist Information Centre Hazaribagh among the ten other such TIC in Jharkhand is a Govt. of Jharkhand in an attempt to enhance Tourism potentials in North Jharkhand as a result of the Minister of Tourism visit recently to Hazaribagh in December 2011, followed with the Internet web-connectivity, at TIC Hazaribagh for global outreach along with grass-root promotion through the Rural Tourism being implement at the Bhelwara Rural Tourism resort in Bishungarh block of Hazaribagh with seven cottages and office with a complete administrative block, kitchen, dinning, lobby, toilets to be managed and maintained by the Bhelwara Rural Tourism Cooperative in collaboration with VIRASAT Trust of Hazaribagh.

The Felicitation Ceremony of Mr. Bulu Imam began with the symbolic tika by Mrs. Alka Imam (VIRASAT Trust) and Mrs. Bhawna Ghosh (SHILALEKH- Jharkhand Shilp Kala Parishad), followed by the presentation of flower bouquet by Mrs. Prabha Lakra, and Ms. Arti and Welcome speech by Ms. Sweta Singh. The ceremony was marked with presentation of a Shawl and mementos to the distinguished Guests. To further mark the occasion two Gulmohar trees were plated on the campus by the D.C. Hazaribagh and Mr. Bulu Imam.
The occasion enriched by the presence of Dr. Hiralal Saha as Guest of Honour, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Principal D.A.V. school Hazaribagh, Mr. Charu Khan, renowned artist from Kolkatta, and well attended by politicians, (Mr. Gautam Sagar Rana), scholars, (Mr. Subhaish Das, Megalith researcher) NGOs, Mrs. Elizabeth Imam &  Mrs. Philomina Imam INTACH, Professors from Vinobha Bhawa University, students, friends and famous tribal Women artists (Putli Ganju, Malo Devi, Parwati Devi, Sugiya Devi from villages of Hazaribagh.
